Hospitality in New Hampshire
“ It’s like coming home…”
The year was 1958. A new Ford cost as little as $1,967. Gasoline was around .24 cents a gallon. Jerry Lee Lewis was pounding out Great Balls of Fire. Elvis Presly was inducted in the U.S. Army and Bobby Darin was singing Splish Splash. And while attendance at Drive-Inn theaters was hitting an all time high…..
The Anchorage Inn, then known as the North Star Motel, opened its doors to the traveling public on Friday , June 6th. This was to be just the beginning of the Ramsey Family’s involvement in the hospitality and lodging business. 50 years , the continued dedication of our outstanding management and staff and four generations have only improved on the concept of a unique guest experience not likely duplicated at today’s chain hotels.
Through the height of the mid-century this family owned motel flourished. Having maintained the property’s classic design, character and original spirit, we have continued to welcome guests while having evolved to meet the needs of the times.
So welcome home, join us; your room key is your key to the past.
